Our Programs

BUILDING CHANGE FROM THE GROUND UP

The blueprint for progress is drawn by policy, but its soul is written by the people. Sustainable transformation is a shared endeavour, where the framework of leadership and the ingenuity of communities meet, co-creating a future that truly blossoms from the ground up. Africa Sphere Initiative operates across eight transformative dimensions powered by community ownership, and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). We are dedicated to translating the vision of the African Union's Agenda 2063 into tangible action at the grassroots level.

🌍 Our Agenda 2063 Commitment

While African leaders adopted Agenda 2063 in 2015 as Africa's 50-year blueprint for inclusive development, the real work happens in villages, farms, and communities. We're translating continental vision into local action across priority areas:

01 / Integration

Economic Integration

Breaking down barriers to trade and investment across African borders. This program advances the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) by harmonizing standards, improving infrastructure connectivity, reducing trade costs, and creating a unified market that enables African businesses and entrepreneurs to scale across the continent.

02 / Food Systems

Food Systems Transformation

Addressing the entire interconnected chain of activities—from growing, harvesting, and processing to distributing, marketing, and consuming food. This program goes beyond farming to encompass inputs, labor, technology, policies, and environmental factors. We strengthen smallholder capacity, modernize value chains, reduce waste, and build sustainable systems that enhance nutrition security while creating economic opportunities.

03 / Climate

Climate Resilience

Equipping communities, institutions, and ecosystems to withstand and adapt to climate shocks. This program focuses on early warning systems, climate-smart agriculture, natural resource management, and building the adaptive capacity of vulnerable populations to protect livelihoods and ensure long-term sustainability in the face of environmental change.

04 / Empowerment

Youth & Gender Empowerment

Unlocking the potential of Africa's demographic dividend by ensuring women and young people have equal access to resources, opportunities, and decision-making power. This program addresses barriers in finance, education, land rights, and leadership, positioning youth and women as drivers of agricultural transformation and economic growth.
